2009 Division 1 Hurling League

Ballyskenagh 0-10 ...... Lusmagh 4-10

A home game against Lusmagh was Ballyskenagh's third game of the 2009 Division 1 hurling league on the 16th of April. The visitors opened the scores with two points and registered their first goal in the fifth minute before John Dooley opened Ballyskenagh's account with a sixth minute free. Lusmagh raised the white flag again before Derek Middleton secured Skenagh's second point of the game in the tenth minute. Lusmagh pointed once more before sending home their second goal of the game at the mid way point. Points from Derek and Emmet Middleton reduced the deficit to six but the margin was back at eight by the twenty second minute (one free). Emmet Middleton and John Dooley (free) raised white flags before a Lusmagh free brought their first half total to 2-7 while a Derek Middleton free just on the whistle gave Skenagh a 7 point total for the half.

Four minutes in to the second half a John Dooley free reduced the margin to five, but Lusmagh pointed and then took their third goal of the game in the 11th minute. Cian Donovan pointed for the home side but the visitors quickly replied. Barry Keeshan scored what was Skenagh's last score in the 18th minute and Lusmagh's 28th minute goal quashed any hopes of a late resurgence. The final score of the game was a Lusmagh point in the last minute, to leave the score 4-10 to 0-10 in favour of the visitors.
