Ballyskenagh's second game of the division 1 hurling league proved to be somewhat of a disappointment as they travelled to Ballinamere on the 4th of April. A dismal first half peformance saw last year's semi final opponents dominate and register 2-9 by the break, while Skenagh failed to register a single score.
Ballinamere increased their advantage with a '65 just two minutes in to the second half before Aidan Franks slotted over Skenagh's first score of the game. A minute later Ballinamere pounced on a rebound from the crossbar to take a 3-10 to 0-1 lead. Skenagh then began to produce the goods and scored five points without reply over the next ten minutes (Timmy Hennessy, Derek Middleton and Aidan Franks x3 - 1 free). With twelve minutes remaining Alan Franks rattled the net with a free to put the score at 3-10 to 1-6. A Ballinamere free was their last score of the game while Derek Middleton and Timmy Hennessy (free) pointed for Skenagh to leave the final score 3-11 to 1-08.
