2008 JF "C" Championship Round 1

Ballyskenagh 0-04 ....... Crinkle 1-14

Ballyskenagh's first defeat of 2008 came in the first round of the Junior Football "C" Championship in Ballyskenagh on Sunday 4th May 2008. Playing downhill with the wind at their backs, Crinkle drew first blood in the fourth minute, but a Shane Carroll free equalised soon after. Crinkle edged in front again before a Gavin Hannon point in the 12th minute saw Skenagh draw level for the second and last time in the game. Crinkle added five more points before the break to put the half time score at 7 points to 2 in favour of the visitors.

Skenagh had it all to do in the second half but things didn't quite go their way as Crinkle steamed ahead to a substantial 1-12 to 0-2 point lead by the 12th minute, despite having a goal disallowed (square ball). A penalty for Skenagh gave them a chance to make the scoreboard a bit more respectable, but it wasn't to be, as Shane Caroll's shot went wide of the post. Ronan Middleton sent over Skenagh's first point of the second half in the 17th minute and Crinkle pointed again in the 25th. John Dooley scored Skenagh's last point of the game in the 26th minute and a Crinkle free was the last score of the game to leave the final score at 1-14 to 0-4.
