Ballyskenagh suffered their first defeat of the 2008 Division 2 League at home on Sunday 17th August at the hands of Ballinamere.
Ballinamere pointed in the first minute and had scored a second before John Dooley raised the white flag for Skenagh. Ballinamere added three more (one free) before Derek Middleton scored Skenagh's second point on the 17th minute. This was Skenagh's last score of the half while Ballinamere added six more (one free) to take a commanding 11 points to 2 lead at half time.
Seconds after the restart Derek Middleton split the posts and Morgan Lalor added another approaching ten minutes on the clock. Ballinamere pointed a free on the half way point before Derek Middleton again scored a point. Ballinamere scored a brace of points before Aidan Franks raised the white flag with eight minutes remaining. Derek Middleton added another point to put the score at 14 points to 8. Ballinamere slotted over two further points before a John Dooley goal to put the final score at 0-16 to 1-8.
