2008 Div 2 Hurling League Round 6

Ballyskenagh 0-13 ...... Coolderry 1-08

Ballyskenagh maintained their 100% record in their sixth game of the league at the expense of visitors Coolderry. A Morgan Lalor point opened the scores just seconds after the throw in. Coolderry pointed but points from Lalor (free) and Timmy Hennessy gave Skenagh a two point edge. The lead was short lived however as Coolderry raised the green flag to put their noses in front and went on to add two points (one free) to give them a three point advantage at the half way point. Two pointed frees from Lalor were followed by a point from John Dooley to put the sides all square with six minutes to go in the half. Coolderry restored a one point margin, but Alan Middleton restored parity again. A Coolderry free just at half time gave them a 1-5 to 0-7 lead at the interval.

A minute into the second half the sides were level again with a Morgan Lalor free and he gave Skenagh the lead with another free six minutes later. John Dooley stretched the gap to two points but a brace of points from the visitors saw the sides level yet again mid way through the half. Two more frees from Lalor restored the two point lead for Skenagh but a Coolderry free brought it back to the minimum with ten minutes remaining. However this proved to be Coolderry's final score of the game, while Timmy Hennessy raised the white flag again for Skenagh to emerge two point winners on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-08.
