Ballyskenagh 0-12 ...... Carrig & Riverstown 0-08
Ballyskenagh earned their third win in a row in the Division 2 league with a home victory over Carrig & Riverstown on Saturday 19th April. Playing down the hill against a stiff breeze, a Morgan Lalor free opened the scores for Skenagh inside the first two minutes. Shane Carroll added another before the visitors scored twice to level the scores. Mark Kirwan scored a long range point but a Carrig & Riverstown free in the 15th minute put the sides level again. Timmy Hennessy edged Skenagh in front but Carrig & Riverstown scored twice without reply before Hennessy again squared things in the 24th minute to put the half time score at five points each.
A Ciarán Kirwan point early in the second half gave Skenagh the lead, but a Carrig & Riverstown free saw the sides level yet again. Derek Middleton and Morgan Lalor pointed to give Skenagh a two point margin but Carrig brought it back to the minimum in the tenth minute. Timmy Hennessy raised the white flag to put the score at 0-9 to 0-7 at the mid way. Carrig & Riverstown brought it back to the minimum in the nineteenth minute with their eighth and final score. A hard fought closing ten minutes saw points from Aidan Franks ('65), Timmy Hennessy and Morgan Lalor give Skenagh a final tally of 12.
