2007 Junior C Football Championship

Kinnitty 5-13 ...... Ballyskenagh 2-4

Ballyskenagh's opening game of the 2007 Junior C football championship ended in disappointment when they lost at home to Kinnitty on Saturday 12th May.

An Alan Franks free opened the scores and a well taken Shane Carroll goal gave Skenagh a 1-1 lead. Some ten minutes later Kinnitty pointed and soon followed with a goal to put the sides level. A Derek Middleton point regained the lead for the home side but not for long as Kinnitty rattled the net less than a minute later. Skenagh failed to score for the remainder of the half, while Kinnitty raised the white flag three times to put the half time score at 2-4 to 1-2 in their favour.

Just over a minute after the re-start the gap was widened when Kinnitty drove a penalty home and they added two further points before Alan Franks replied with a goal for Skenagh. Franks again pointed from a free and an Aidan Franks point put the score at 2-4 to 3-6 with nine minutes gone on the clock. However this was to be Skenagh's last score of the game, while Kinnitty went on to add 2-7 to their tally to canter home with a 5-13 to 2-4 victory.
