2007 Div 1 Hurling League Round 4

Killavilla 2-13 ...... Ballyskenagh 2-6

Ballyskenagh made the short journey to Killavilla on Saturday 26th May to take on the home side and went down badly on a final scoreline of 2-18 to 2-6 in miserable conditions.

Killavilla raised the green flag in the first minute and it was mostly one way traffic for the first half, with Killavilla leading by 1-8 to 0-2 at half time. Skenagh's two points came from Ronan Middleton (tenth minute) and Tadhg Maher (26th minute), with all but two of Killavilla's scores coming from play.

A Derek Middleton point in the 9th minute of the second half put the score at 1-10 to 0-3. An Alan Middleton free increased Skenagh's total to 4 before Morgan Lalor passed to Timmy Hennessy who broke through to raise the green flag for Skenagh 2-10 to 1-4 midway through the half. Killavilla soon replied with a goal for their own to increase the margin to 12. Three points from Timmy Hennessy (one free) gave Skenagh some hope but time was running out. Killavilla pointed again before an Alan Middleton free got past the keeper to put the score at 2-11 to 2-6 with five minutes remaining. Skenagh battled hard but failed to register any further scores while Killavilla added two more to their total to put the final score at 2-13 to 2-6.
