2007 Div 1 Hurling League Round 3

Seir Kieran 2-13 ...... Ballyskenagh 0-09

Ballyskenagh played host to Seir Kieran on Sunday 20th May in the third round of the Division 1 hurling league.

Tadhg Maher opened Skenagh's account in the second minute and Seir Kieran replied with a brace of points to take an early lead. Morgan Lalor equalised in the eighth minute but Seir Kieran again pointed twice to take a 0-4 to 0-2 lead by the eighteenth minute. Ciarán Kirwan reduced the margin to the minimum but Seir Kieran then got through for a goal and then followed up with a second goal to take a 2-4 to 0-3 lead. They went on to add two further points to put the half time score at 2-6 to 0-3 in the visitor's favour.

A Noel Murphy point was the first score of the second half, but the Clareen men raised the white flag four times without reply to give them a 2-10 to 0-4 lead by the 10th minute. Skenagh then had a good spell and scored five points over the next ten minutes courtesy of Noel Murphy, Derek Middleton and Morgan Lalor (three frees). However Skenagh failed to score again while Seir Kieran added a further three points to leave the final score at 2-13 to 0-9.
