Ballyskenagh 0-10 ...... Shinrone 3-13
Ballyskenagh's opening game in the 2007 Div 1 league took place in Ballyskenagh on the 31st March when Skenagh lost to Shinrone by 3-13 to 0-10.
Mid-way through the first half, Shinrone had their noses in front with a 5 points to 3 lead and with four minutes to go in the half, the gap was still two at 7 points to 5. However Shinrone's Declan Loughnane then raised the green flag and Shinrone added a further point to put the score at 1-8 to 0-5 at the break.
Less than two minutes into the second half Shinrone rattled the net again to widen the gap to 9 points. Points from Alan Middleton (free) and Timmy Hennessy brought it back to seven before Shinrone drove another one home for their third goal of the day with nine minutes gone in the half. Skenagh battled hard but scores were hard come by and they added a total of three points for the remainder of the game, while Shinrone increased their total by five to emerge deserving winners on a final scorline of 3-13 to 0-10.
