Crinkle 1-01 ...... Ballyskenagh 0-07
After a long absence, Ballyskenagh's return to the junior football championship got off to a good start with a 0-07 to 1-01 victory over Crinkle in Crinkle on Easter Monday.
Having played with the wind, Skenagh had a 0-04 to 1-0 lead at half time and were somewhat unlucky not to be further ahead. In the second half, Skenagh had a 0-6 to 1-0 advantage when Crinkle were awarded a penalty in the 25th minute. Alan Franks took up his familiar role between the posts, (albeit without his hurl!) and did a Bruce Grobbelar impression before doing well to deflect the shot over the bar for a point. Alan Middleton added a point in the closing minute to leave the final score 0-07 to 1-01 in favour of Ballyskenagh.
