2006 Div 2 (Senior) League Round 5

Seir Kieran 2-11 ...... Ballyskenagh 1-14

Ballyskenagh just about held on to their unbeaten record in the Division 2 League when they drew with Seir Kieran in Clareen on Tuesday 29th May.

A Seir Kieran goal in the 9th minute gave them a 1-3 to 0-2 lead. In the 26th minute, the gap was still four points at 1-6 to 0-5 when David Carney rattled the net to bring the margin back to the minimum. However, just a minute later the gap was back to four as Seir Kieran also raised the green flag. The Clareen men then added a point from a free before half time to leave the score at 2-7 to 1-5 at the break.

Skenagh started the second half with a Morgan Lalor point and went on to score a further three points without reply to bring the gap back to one mid way through the half. Seir Kieran and Skenagh exchanged frees (Skenagh's by Eoghan Franks) before Morgan Lalor levelled matters in the 23rd minute at 1-11 to 2-8. By the 26th minute Seir Kieran had restored a two point lead but points from Eoghan and Alan Franks had the sides all square again with 3 minutes remaining, (Alan Franks having being switched out the field with Tom O'Toole taking up goal keeping duties). Seir Kieran edged in front again in the 29th minute but an Alan Franks free levelled the sides for the fourth and final time. Skenagh had an opportunity to sneak a win with a '65 which was to be the last puck of the game, but Alan Frank's effort went wide and the sides finished all square at 1-14 to 2-11.
