2006 Div 2 (Senior) League Round 2

Ballyskenagh 2-9....... Drumcullen 2-7

Ballyskenagh earned their second win in the Division 2 league at home to Drumcullen on Saturday 8th of April. In poor conditions, both weather-wise and pitch-wise, both teams served up a lively and determined hour's hurling. Ballyskenagh got off to a blistering start with a David Carney goal less than a minute after the throw in and Carney quickly added a point to give Skenagh a four point advantage. The advantage didn't last long however, as Drumcullen pointed in the fourth minute and drew level with a goal five minutes later. Sides were level at 1-3 each when Drumcullen again found the back of the net in the 26th minute to take a three point lead. Both sides added a point each before half time to leave the half time score 2-4 to 1-4 in Drumcullen's favour.

It was tit for tat for most the second half, with Drumcullen just keeping their noses in front. With two points in it, a 27th minute penalty saw Alan Franks rattle the back of the net to give Ballyskenagh the advantage at 2-8 to 2-7. A tense finish saw both sides battle hard, but Skenagh added another point and held on to win by 2-9 to 2-7.
