Ballyskenagh 0-18 ...... Birr 2-15
Ballyskenagh suffered their second defeat in the Division 1 League at the hands of County Champions Birr in Ballyskenagh on Saturday 10th of April in an entertaining and keenly contested encounter.
The sides were level mid way through the first half at 0-3 each and little separated them as they exchanged scores for the remainder of the half, with 'Skenagh keeping their noses in front at half time by 0-8 to 0-6.
Birr opened the scoring in the second half but 'Skenagh then added four points without reply, to open up a 0-12 to 0-7 lead by the 6th minute. At the half way point, 'Skenagh held a six point lead at 0-16 to 0-10. A Birr goal in the 21st minute brought the margin back to a single point 1-12 to 0-16 and they went on to take the lead with a second goal four minutes later 2-12 to 0-17. An exciting battle for the remaining five minutes saw Birr emerge winners on a final scoreline of 2-15 to 0-18.
