Ballyskenagh's 2004 Division 1 league campaign kicked off with a home tie on Sunday 14th March against Seir Kieran. Played in very heavy, slippery conditions, Seir Kieran had the considerable wind behind them in the first half and were 0-5 to 0-1 ahead after ten minutes, 'Skenagh's point coming from Noel Murphy. Two Eoghan Franks points (one from a free) and a point from Morgan Lalor were Skenagh's only other scores of the half and they went in at half time trailing by 0-10 to 0-4.
The second half saw 'Skenagh get on top, but scores still proved elusive, with Eoghan Franks scoring all of their second half total of six points (three from frees). Seir Kieran raised the white flag three times, leaving the final score 0-13 to 0-10.
